Sahara Lounge presents Africa Night as a weekly Saturday night residency since 2011. There are two house bands – Zoumountchi and Sahara Allstars, featuring West Africans Ibrahim Aminou (kora, guitar and vocals), Alseny and Abou Sylla (percussion), Aicha Wambaya and Diante Moses (vocals), along with strong horn and rhythm sections. Rotating guest bands include local and touring Afrobeat, Afropop, Reggae and Latin bands. Diverse crowd, free buffet ’til it runs out, backyard patio, free parking and a fun and friendly vibe! This event is supported in party in part by a grant from the Live Music Fund of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment. Dance floor, free parking, delicious custom cocktails including NA, free buffet at 7p, diverse crowd and a relaxed backyard patio for conversations!
