Redd & The Paper Flowers with Love Day & The Soiree at The Club at Water Street – Rochester, NY
Redd & The Paper Flowers
Redd & The Paper Flowers is an Appalachian Folk-grass / Living Room Folk band from Knoxville, Tennessee with members Katie Adams (upright bass), Colleen d’Alelio (cello), Gavin Gregg (mandolin), and Redd Daugherty (guitar).
Coining the new term, “Living Room Folk,” the band provides an intimate and cozy atmosphere–not dissimilar to listening to music in the comfort of one’s own home. They have also been coined as Appalachian Jazz.
The band met through local open mics and mutual friends in Knoxville. They released their debut album, Appalachian Bell Jar , a record that is a testament to East Tennessee and greater Appalachia’s beauty, struggles with local and regional governmental support for Appalachia, and their experiences in the area in May 2025.
Their second album, Dead Little Thing , will highlight the struggles from the tragedy of Redd inheriting Rush’s Music, a local Knoxville band and instrument music store, after Jason Cooper’s murder to gun violence. Jason was a dear friend of Redd’s. Much of the band’s history is now woven within the Rush’s Music story, and despite the tragedy, the band has grown extremely close through loss and grief, while learning how to run a business and local gem of the Knoxville community.
