Join award-winning muscians, guitarist Ronnie Elliott and pianist William Armstrong, for a night of live, swinging jazz at Coffee Underground with Jackson Goldy on percussion and Shannon Hoover on bass! Both Ronnie and William are Greenville SC natives who met while studying at The Fine Arts Center. Both have played many venues in and around the Greenville area including The Peace Center, The Gunter Theater, Centre Stage, The Mocking Bird and festivals including Fall for Greenville, Greenville Jazz Fest, and Artistphere.
Ronnie Elliott, age 16, is a three-time Downbeat Magazine award winner and two-time YoungArts winner as well as a finalist in the Dallas International Guitar Competition. Active in the Greenville jazz scene since the age of eight, Ronnie just recently recorded his debut album in New York City with jazz organist Pat Bianchi and drummer Colin Stranahan. Ronnie is a longtime student of Jonathan Kreisberg and Matt Dingledine.
William Armstrong is a two-time YoungArts Award–winning pianist currently studying at the Frost School of Music under renowned pianist and educator Martin Bejerano (Roy Haynes, Russell Malone, etc.). Born and raised in Greenville, SC, William attended the Fine Arts Center for four years, where he studied jazz with Steve Watson and Joe Davidian.
