Rooted in Joy: A Collective Reception Celebrating the Black LGBTQ Community at The DeLuxe Theater – Houston, TX
We are excited to announce that The T.R.U.T.H. Project, The Normal Anomaly, Pride Houston 365, The DeLUXE Theater, and Black Alphabet have come together to curate a collective reception rooted in community, care, and celebration.
Rooted in Joy: A Collective Reception, an intentional gathering honoring a week of programming that amplifies Black queer creativity, wellness, storytelling, and liberation.This special reception will not only kick off the 2nd Annual Black Alphabet Film Festival Houston, but also serve as a moment to pause, connect, and celebrate the many ways our community continues to bloom beyond boundaries.

June 24 – Liberation in Bloom: A Soft Reset Art Exhibition June 25 – We Bloom: A Community Conversation Centering Artists, Sexual Health, and Collective Wellbeing June 26 – Rooted in Joy: A Collective Reception + Day One of the 2nd Annual Black Alphabet Film Festival Houston June 27 – Black Like That Community Festival + Day Two of the 2nd Annual Black Alphabet Film Festival HoustonThis collaboration represents more than a series of events. It is a shared commitment to showing up for Black queer communities in full solidarity – celebrating the breadth of our experiences, honoring our stories, and creating spaces where joy, art, and belonging can coexist.We look forward to gathering with you.
