Tavern Night with the Liberty Three at Tompkins Corners Cultural Center – Putnam Valley, NY
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with an immersive evening of music, dance, and colonial hospitality in the Historic Carriage House at Tompkins Corners Cultural Center.
Featuring traditional music and tavern songs of the Revolutionary era, The Liberty Three will transport audiences back to the spirited atmosphere of an 18th-century public house. With fiddle, voice, guitar, mandolin, and dulcimer, the trio performs lively dance tunes, familiar ballads, and songs that would have filled colonial taverns in the years leading up to and during the American Revolution.
Consisting of Jim Keyes, Carla Hall, and Sara Worden O’Brien, The Liberty Three combines musicianship, storytelling, and audience participation in an engaging and informal performance. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn simple country dances, with live music and accessible calling designed for all experience levels.
In colonial America, taverns served as centers of community life where travelers and neighbors gathered to share news, enjoy refreshments, and exchange the revolutionary ideas that shaped a nation. This special event recreates that lively spirit through music, conversation, and food.
Revolutionary-inspired fare, including baked beans, cornbread, cheese plates, beverages, and desserts, will be available for purchase.
