Forty Feet Tall has cemented their place in the scene as one of the Pacific Northwests most exciting acts. With a brand new album, Clean the Cage, produced by Cameron Spies (Spoon Benders, Blackwater Holylight, The Shivas), they showcase a wide range of post-punk sounds that are both volatile and intimate. But the biggest buzz around the band is their live shows. Whether theyre opening for Shame, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Wine Lips, or headlining themselves, the members leave every single thing out on stage with gigs routinely ending in incendiary showstoppers that find the lead singer tangled up in mic cords or diving into the crowd.
Black Ends (SEA) ? BLACK ENDS IS GUNK POP ?
Jakki & The Pink Smudge – Named for the way Wises lipstick tends to smudge across her face during her energetic live performances, the Pink Smudges Y2K influences are both broad and unmistakable, meaningfully filtered through Wises distinct pop-punk lens. Still, theres more to the Pink Smudge than just Wises spongy soprano and fuzzy guitar riffsdrummer Charlie Oakes and bassist Oliver Lester bring depth and muscle to the sound, giving the band its full, fleshy form.
