Zanzibar: Tumbatu Island Day Trip – Zanzibar, Tanzania

EXPERIENCE:

Your Transfer car will pick you up at your hotel in Zanzibar at 8 am and head to the nearest pier on the island. There, you’ll board a boat that will take you to the island of Tumbatu, a very exciting day awaits you! While sailing, you’ll marvel at the beautiful scenery offered by the third largest island of the Zanzibar archipelago. Upon arrival, you’ll learn about the way of life of the people of Tumbatu Island – did you know that their only source of energy is solar panels? In addition, you’ll learn about some of the most ingrained and ancestral customs of this local population.
To continue this tour of Tumbatu you’ll explore the ruins of the island, where you’ll see the Shirazi constructions and the huge baobabs, which are more than 900 years old!
After exploring Tumbatu Island, you’ll have built up an appetite. And take you to a local restaurant where you can indulge in a delicious traditional meal of seafood, vegetables, and rice. Once you’ve refreshed and recharged, you’ll head back to the paradise beach for an hour of snorkeling among breathtaking corals and colorful fish swimming in the dazzling blue waters.

Finally, you’ll return to your hotel in Zanzibar at about 4 pm.
