Start at the stable castle and continue on to Josefsplatz which boasts great views of the imperial library. See the equestrian statue of Emperor Joseph II in the middle of the square.

Pass through a gate and walk further into a small courtyard overlooking the choir of the Vienna Hofburgkapelle. Arrive at the Schweizerhof of the Vienna Hofburg. Head through the Swiss Gate, an important Renaissance work of art, and reach the inner square of the castle. Marvel at the monument Emperor Franz II./I. where your historic city tour will end.
