What is the venetian sandolo boat?
It is a boat very similar to the gondola, but with a flat bottom, not asymmetrical.
The rower therefore is placed in the middle of the boat, not at the side.

It is a solid, spacious and manoeuvrable boat used to give tourists a ‘Venetian’ experience that is less tied to the stereotypical image of the gondola.

It can be considered the ‘basic’ boat of the Venetian lagoon, as many of the other lagoon boats are derived from this model.

In the past they were mainly used for fishing, but today they are also used for leisure, for transporting people or light loads and, in their more powerful versions such as the sandoli pupparini and the mascarete, for regattas.
