EXPERIENCE

Your Walking Tour of Vancouver starts in at the Vancouver Harbor where glorious mountain peaks dive into the gorgeous waters right within your view. Canada Place is our cruise ship terminal and the bustling streets will excite and inspire the group as we embark on a fun 3 hour walking tour.

After a short story at the harbor we walk west to Vancouver’s Olympic Torch, and Jack Poole Plaza where you’ll hear about Vancouver’s epic immergence as a city among nations.

Your group will travel next to the impressive architecture of the Marine Building, designed to look as if it was emerging from the ocean. It’s ceilings are drenched in waves and sea urchins which set the scene for the perfect selfie! Next is a short uphill to the Fairmont Vancouver to learn of Vancouver booming 30’s.

Right next door is the center of downtown, Robson Square, a three block inner-city block designed by local landscape architect Cornelia Oberlander. She has won many awards for this special place and we’re excited to share it with you. After an oasis of some inner-city nature we walk east to the bustling Granville Street where you’ll learn about Vancouver’s pop-culture, and may even hear a tune or two.

This tour has a mid-way break, which is the opportune time to use the washroom fill up your water bottle, and maybe take in a beautiful view. Our mid-way break is at Vancouver’s Public Library which is a perfect stop for all the fore-mentioned benefits but also to take in the amazing architecture.

After the break we walk downtown to the Terry Fox Statue for a heart gripping tale of one of Canada’s most inspiring individuals. Terry was a determined young athlete who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18 years old.. what he does next will amaze and encourage you to do and be better.

Your guide will transition this inspirational story to guests’ most anticipated neighborhood, Gastown. The cobble-stone streets take us back to a simpler time while the new age shopping and eateries contrast the sites within our eyes. At the edge of Gastown is Victory Square, which shows Vancouver’s contribution to making this nation a free and open society.

We then walk into the depths of Gastown to see the most photographed site, the Gastown Steam Clock. This steam powered clock will wow the crowd just in time for the New Westminster chimes to sound a recognizable tune. We’ll continue up to Waterfront station, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask any pressing questions about how to best get around Vancouver after your tour.

Your guide will end at Granville Square, which is a nearly 3 minute walk back to our start location.
