EXPERIENCE

The Lower Valley of the Chubut River was the place that sheltered those first Welsh settlers back in 1865, giving rise to another culture within a country predominantly of Spanish descent at that time. Today, we can visit Trelew, an industrial and commercial hub in the area, home to the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF). In the afternoon, after lunching in the area, we head to Gaiman, an old Welsh colony that preserves its traditions. Here, we’ll visit historical buildings and Welsh chapels, and enjoy a typical Welsh tea in one of its renowned Tea Houses. In the afternoon, we begin the return journey to Puerto Madryn.
Total Distance: 170 km – 5 to 7 hours
Season: year-round
