EXPERIENCE:

This tour is specially designed for those who want to discover the colonial history of Paris. A historian will guide you into the past of one of the most multi-ethnic neighborhoods of the city through the story of the colonial period

Starting from the meeting point at the West Observatory Gate of the Jardin du Luxembourg, we will unveil the history of one of the emblematic sites of the French Colonial Empire, the École Coloniale, before delving into the pathways of this spectacular garden, now home to the French Senate.
We will then walk towards the famous Panthéon, whose entrance will shed light on some important notions regarding France’s monarchic history. Crossing Rue Clovis, passing by the renowned Lycée Henry IV and some significant institutions of French education, we will arrive at one of the oldest remains of the Roman city at the base of Paris, the Arena of Lutetia. Finally, we will conclude our delightful stroll at a point of interest that will take us back to the initial meeting point, the fascinating Grande Mosquée de Paris, home to the most significant representation of Islamic architecture in the city, where we can bid farewell over a cup of tea or a typical Maghreb pastry.
