EXPERIENCE

The four-day excursion to Choquequirao takes you to the last refuge of the Incas, considered as such due to the vestiges that exist there, such as ceremonial squares, warehouses, houses and terraces.
Choquequirao is an archaeological site full of history and mystery
one of the toughest hikes we have in Cusco.
DAY 1: : CUSCO – CAPULIYOC VIEWPOINT – SANTA ROSA We will pick you up at the meeting point at 5 in the morning to take you to Curawasi for approximately 3 hours by car where we will make a short stop for breakfast and then continue for another hour to the Capuliyoc Viewpoint to start the hike, once ready for the hike, we begin to descend for approximately 3 hours to the Chiquisca lunch place where the cooks will be waiting for you with a delicious lunch and then we will continue with the descent hike to Playa Rosalinas where we will have a break and then we will begin the ascent section for 2 hours to the Santa Rosa camp, once there we will set up the entire camp and then have a delicious dinner and spend the night at the camp. DAY 2: : SANTA ROSA TREK – CHOQUEQUIRAO – MARANPATA At around 6am the cooks will wake you up with hot coca tea and then you will get ready for breakfast, after a nutritious meal at the camp you will start a 2 hour hike uphill to Maranpata where the cooks, muleteers and horses will stay to prepare lunch for the group and take lunch to Choquequirao for the group while you visit the archaeological complex. We will arrive in Choquequirao at around 9.30am to explore the area. The guide will explain everything about Choquequirao and you will also have enough time to explore the area on your own. Then in the afternoon you will return to Maranpata for dinner and overnight at the camp. DAY 3: : MARANPATA – APURIMAC RIVER – CHIQUISCA Around 8am we will get up to have breakfast and get ready to return to the city of Cusco. After breakfast we will start the hike to the Apurimac River canyon, a descent that lasts approximately 3 hours. Once at the river we will spend some time relaxing and have a delicious lunch prepared by our expert cooks, then we will climb for approximately two hours to the third camp. Located in Chiquisca, once at the camp we will get ready and then have the opportunity to interact with the locals and taste the typical drink made from sugar cane. In the afternoon we will have dinner and spend the night at the camp. DAY 4: : CHIQUISCA – CAPULIYOC VIEWPOINT – CUSCO The last day of our tour will start very early. The last part of the hike is to return to the Capuliyoc Viewpoint, it starts around 5am after breakfast. We start very early to avoid the intense sun that usually falls in the area, after 4 hours of walking uphill we will arrive at the Mirador Capuliyoc to wait for lunch while you can enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the Apurímac canyon, then we will have lunch and then we will take the car back to Cusco and we will arrive in Cusco around 4:30 in the afternoon.
