St Pete: Dolphin Snorkeling Cruise to Shell Key - Gulf of Mexico, Mexico
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

Your 2-hour tour starts from the beautiful Tierra Verde Marina Resort, taking the Grand Canal out to the channel leading to the Gulf of Mexico. Along the canal, you’ll see a few of the homes and mansions of Tierra Verde, as well as the dolphins and manatees that also stroll the canal.

As you exit the canal, you will begin circling the island of Shell Key, part of the 1800 acre Shell Key wildlife preserve. You will see wildlife everywhere – both in the air and in the water. You will stroll out into the Gulf and head down to the south end of Shell Key.

The captain will pull the boat up onto the beach, where everyone will get an opportunity to spend some time on the island. You will get to swim and snorkel (the snorkel gear is provided at no additional charge), or you might prefer to just walk along the beach, collecting shells. The captain will provide you with a shell bag so you can bring home a nice bunch of shells. If you prefer, you can choose to stay on the boat to enjoy the shade and a cool drink. At the end of your stay on the island, you will re-board the boat, and head back to the marina.
