Sorrento: Advanced Mount Faito Cycling Tour – Sorrento, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

Embark on an adventure ride to the plain of Mount Faito on a bike tour suitable for advanced bikers and trained athletes. Start in the main square of Meta di Sorrento, where the church dedicated to the Holy Mary of Laurel is located. From there, bike uphill along the highway SS 145. After a 3-kilometer uphill ascent, you’ll turn right and take a local road that leads to the mountain range of Monti Lattari, admiring the spectacular landscape along the way.

Challenge yourself as the road continues to go uphill. You’ll ride along local roads, pass through beautiful fields, and gaze in awe at the stunning surroundings. After approximately 20 kilometers you’ll arrive to Moiano, a small hamlet of Vico Equense. After this, peddle upwards on a 7-kilometer stretch of road to reach the plain of Mount Faito. It is a tough road to bike along, with some stretches having a gradient of almost 12%.

Once you have arrived, you will be rewarded with a view that is beyond words. Take a restoring break and enjoy the panoramic views overlooking Positano, Sorrento, Capri Island, and Mount Vesuvius. You can immerse yourself in the sounds of nature and the aroma of the fields for a while, and from there the path easily circles back down to your starting point.
