Siena – Truffle hunting in the Sienese woods with tasting – Tuscany, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

The adventure begins from meeting, in a delightful little town called San Giovanni d’Asso to moving with one’s own vehicle and immersing oneself in the fabulous woods of Montalcino, together with one of the best experts in true truffle hunting.

We will start with a description of the greedy world of the truffle, the various seasons and characteristics of the different types of this delicious fruit, the right areas where you can find it along with the flora that surrounds it, retracing its life at 360°thus from its growth in the soil to its finding to its preservation in the kitchen and delicacies that you can create.

The guide is a skilled dog educator who, together with her talented and trustworthy four-legged helpers, will give you a fun and adventurous experience. During the walk, anecdotes will be told and how the puppy is trained starting with the mother’s fetus, birth and life of our searching companion.

There is a chance during the trail, which is absolutely passable by everyone because for the most part the terrain is flat, to be able to interact with the surrounding wildlife and to discover special and beautiful animals.

At the end of the search, we will move to La Romita farmhouse located in the beautiful Tuscan village of Montisi, 15 minutes from Montalcino, for a tasty tasting based on fresh and tasty truffles typical of the area, crostone with melted pecorino cheese and truffles, tagliolini with fresh truffles and truffle eggs, cantuccini and vinsanto, water, coffee and glass of wine

At the end of our natural journey, there is an opportunity to buy truffles directly from the truffle hunter, and as a gift and souvenir of our day, we will release a typical Tuscan truffle recipe for those who want it.
