EXPERIENCE:

You will be given a qualified local guide who will introduce you to the museum and reveal all the details about David and the other works of art housed there. After that brief detour, the tour guide will take you to the Hall of the Colossus to view the artworks of Giambologna’s “Rape of the Sabines,” Cassone Adimari, and Domenico Ghirlandaio’s solemn “St. Stephen between St. James and St. Peter,” after which you will proceed to the main Hall of the Prisoners to learn more about the unfinished statues by Michelangelo “Slaves,”

Later, the tour guide will spend time at The Tribune, where the guide will discuss “Allori’s Coronation of the Virgin Mary” and Michelangelo’s “David’s Statue,” two of the most famous works.

Finally, the tour guide will introduce you to the Gipsoteca Bartolini, which has plaster replicas of works by Arnolfo, Brunelleschi, Lorenzo Monaco, and the Reclining Venus on display in its documentation center on the first floor.

The tour lasts about an hour, which is the ideal length to see the museum’s highlights without getting overwhelmed. After the tour is over, you can go back to anything you might want to see again, including the David.
