EXPERIENCE

Lake Sandoval – Search for Alligators – Sunset Day 1 Start your excursion around Lake Sandoval with a canoe ride, beginning with pickup at your hotel near the Plaza de Armas. Head to the shore of the Madre de Dios River to board a boat. Travel to the Tambopata National Reserve, taking a walk until you reach Lake Sandoval. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife such as monkeys, parrots and toucans. Upon reaching Lake Sandoval, board a canoe to explore the lake and observe the incredible flora and fauna. If you’re lucky, you might even see giant otters. Enjoy a delicious lunch and a short rest before heading out in the afternoon in search of black caimans and other amazing animals, including the capybara, the largest rodent. End the day by witnessing a beautiful sunset from the canoe, before returning to the city and concluding the excursion to Lake Sandoval by canoe.
