Learn about one of San Diego’s oldest neighborhoods, and visit its artisan market. Later, enjoy the Harbor Dockside Market and purchase fresh seafood direct from local fishermen. Then onto the Little Italy Mercato Farmers Market to enjoy everything from coffee and gelato to pizza.
The tour starts with a brief discussion of California and San Diego’s history and its early pioneers, with the main focus on 5th avenue and its beautifully restored Victorian buildings. See the Gaslamp Quarter at the best possible time with traffic blocked off for the market.
Next comes Seaport Village and the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market on the fishing pier. After passing the USS Midway Museum and the Maritime Museum, we enter the Little Italy Mercato Farmers Market, also then open only to pedestrians. Finish in Little Italy at12:30, perfect timing for lunch there!
