Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Humantay and Rainbow Mountain – Cusco Region, Peru

EXPERIENCE

Day 1: Airport pickup and city tour.
Start your trip with an airport pickup and hotel drop-off. Have the morning free to rest and acclimatize. Join a mid-afternoon city tour, exploring Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Return to Cusco around dinner time.

Day 2: Sacred Valley.
Start the tour of the Sacred Valley in the morning. Visit Pisac and go to Urubamba for lunch. After lunch, departure to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Machu Picchu.

Day 3: Machu Picchu.
Start early to take the bus to Machu Picchu, where your guide awaits your arrival. Tour the citadel of Machu Picchu for 2.5 hours, followed by lunch in Aguas Calientes. Later, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

Day 4: Humantay Lake.
Start the day before sunrise and travel to the town of Mollepata for a breakfast stop. Continue your trip to Soraypampa and walk to the Humantay lagoon. Admire the fauna and flora of the place. Descend to Soraypampa to return to Mollepata for lunch. Then return to Cusco.

Day 5: Maras and Moray.
After your morning pickup, we’ll drive through Maras to the agricultural wonders of Moray for a 40-minute guided tour. Continue to the salt mines or “salineras” for a 1-hour guided tour. Return to Cusco at the end of the afternoon.

Day 6: Rainbow Mountain.
We will leave before dawn and travel to the town of Tintico to have breakfast. Afterwards, we will continue the tour with a walk, appreciating a variety of flora and fauna along the way. At the top of Rainbow Mountain, you will be rewarded with views of the snow-capped Ausangate Mountain. After soaking up the tranquility of the mountain, we began the descent. We will return to the restaurant for lunch and then return to Cusco.

Day 7: Airport transfer.
Depending on your plans and flight time, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
