Begin your journey into the rich history of Atlanta with our Sweet Auburn walking tour, where your passionate guide will bring the stories of this iconic neighborhood to life. Starting at the Auburn Avenue Research Library, you’ll be introduced to the roots of this historic district. Next, we’ll visit landmarks like the APEX Museum and the Atlanta Daily World, home to the first African American newspaper, as well as the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) headquarters, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other Civil Rights leaders shaped the movement.

Each stop reveals more about the area once known as “the richest Negro street in America.” We’ll explore the Royal Peacock, a former entertainment hotspot, and Big Bethel AME Church, which has played a crucial role in the community’s history. The tour also includes a visit to Morris Brown College’s first location, giving you a glimpse into the area’s educational legacy.

Throughout the tour, your guide will provide fascinating insights into the historical significance of each stop, and you’ll also have opportunities to enjoy the area’s local culture and vibrant atmosphere.
