Rome: Cooking Class and Dinner with a Local – Rome, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

Immerse yourself in the local gastronomic heritage and learn the art of Roman cuisine. You will enjoy the experience of cooking with a domestic cook who will take you into their home kitchen and will teach you how to make traditional local recipes.

You will begin by meeting your cook and introducing yourselves to each other, before then starting your cooking class by uncorking a bottle of local wine. You will then put your hands in the dough and learn how to make a typical Italian dish, which will be fresh homemade pasta with a local typical sauce.

Your cook will then show you how to prepare Italian tagliatelle, spaghetti, fettuccine, lasagna, gnocchi or ravioli with your hands. You will also prepare the seasoning for the sauce, such as ragout, fresh tomato sauce, mushroom sauce, or vegetable sauce, using seasonal fresh ingredients and following the recipes of traditional Italian cuisine.

Finally, you will sit down at the dining table together like a real Italian family, tasting what you prepared in a 3-course menu composed of: appetizers, a main course, and dessert. Your meal will also be accompanied by water, wine, and coffee.

NOTE: On Sunday and Italian Holidays the entire market is closed so we ll skip the market and focus on cooking.
The 6 pm class DOES NOT include the market tour as it is CLOSED…You will , on the other side have a longer class at home!
