Puno: Full day to Copacabana and Sun Island – Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, Bolivia

EXPERIENCE

The Puno to Copacabana and Isla del Sol tour will offer you the opportunity to visit the Basilica of the Virgin Candelaria in Copacabana and explore the Isla del Sol on a day trip. This island, located 142 km from Puno in Copacabana, Bolivia, was the centre of origin of the Inca Empire, and will allow you to discover important archaeological sites dedicated to the Sun God, Inti.

Itinerary:
We will start by picking participants up from their hotel at 7:00 a.m. in the city of Puno and then head to the terminal station to board the excursion bus to Copacabana.

After a few hours of travel, we will arrive at the Peru-Bolivia border (Cassani), where we will complete the necessary formalities to enter Bolivia.

Once the formalities are completed, we will continue to Copacabana, arriving at approximately 12:00 Bolivian time. There, we will enjoy lunch and a guided visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Copacabana.

Then, we will go to the pier to board a boat that will take us to the Island of the Sun, crossing Lake Titicaca to the south side of the island. We will visit the archaeological site of Pilkoken (Temple of the Sun), go down the Umani stairs from the Inca period and see the Eternal Fountain of the Incas, where you can taste the holy water.

Finally, we will return to Copacabana at approximately 17:00. You will have free time in Copacabana before taking the bus back to Puno, arriving at approximately 21:00, and then you will be taken back to your hotel in Puno
