We will pick you up in Cusco at 5:30 am and head to the town of Ollantaytambo. Here we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast. We will head to Piscacucho (KM 82) and begin our first 2-hour walk to Patallacta. After visiting this fascinating place, we will continue walking for 45 minutes to our lunch spot. We will then walk for 1.5 hours to our Wayllabamba camp, where you will have a well-deserved rest and snack, followed by a tasty dinner before going to bed.

DAY 2 WAYLLABAMBA – DEAD WOMAN’S PASS – PACAYMAYO
After a great breakfast and a cup of hot coca tea, we will walk for approximately 4 hours to the highest pass of the trek, Dead Woman Pass. Upon reaching the pass, we will stop for a short break to enjoy the fascinating views before once again embarking on our 2.5-hour descent to the next valley of Pacaymayo. We will have some tea and dinner and spend the night at our camp.

DAY 3 PACAYMAYO – RUNCURRACCAY PASS – CHAQUICCOCHA – WIÑAYHUAYNA
This day will be the longest, we will have breakfast. We will continue our walk surrounded by jungle vegetation and a series of incredible Inca archaeological sites ahead. We then arrive at our lunch point in Chaquicocha, where we have some time to relax. After 2.5 hours of walking, we arrived at the next archaeological site of Puyuptamarca. From there we begin our 3-hour descent to our Wiñayhuayna camp, where we will have tea and dinner.

DAY 4 WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Today we will get up at 3:30 am, have breakfast and descend to the checkpoint. We will wait there for a little over an hour until the doors open. Once we have passed through the checkpoint, we will walk 1.5 hours to Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku). From there, we will descend for 40 minutes to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas.” This complex is considered a jewel of Inca architecture. It is a complete city with different neighborhoods, squares, alleys, buildings, astronomical observatories and terraces. The city was rediscovered on July 24, 1911 by the American researcher Hiram Bingham. Our local guide will share his knowledge about this sacred place and show us around the complex. Later, he will have enough free time to explore the archaeological site on his own.

For those who have previously selected to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, you will do so at the designated time.*

In the afternoon, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then we will take the train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station, we will transfer you to Cusco.
*Please ask in advance for availability. $65.00 additional per person for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain
