Port Alsworth: 4-Day Crewed Charter and Chef on Lake Clark - Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Alaska

EXPERIENCE

Experience Lake Clark from the comfort of your private crewed catamaran for the week.

Each booking is customized to include the activities you want.

Do you enjoy hiking?
There are three waterfalls that I would highly recommend hiking to if you are able.
Tanalian Falls – A powerful waterfall from Kontrashabuna Lake into the Tanalian River. It is a couple hour leisurely hike on groomed trails.
Falls in Little Lake Clark, a very tall waterfall with a false cave hollowed out behind it – an afternoon hike through game trails and boulders, crossing the creek multiple times.
Falls just up from Current Creek, a great mini adventure to take the dinghy up to see when anchored there.
There is another good trail on the north side of the lake that goes up to a great view overlooking the lake.

Do you enjoy fishing?
The fishing here is world class, and while we do not focus on fishing, we do provide the gear and our crew have their guide licenses. Make sure to get your fishing license. Depending on time of year and area of the lake we have Salmon, Lake Trout, Greyling, Arctic Char, Northern Pike, etc…

Do you enjoy kayaking or paddle boarding?
We will have convertable paddleboard/kayaks available for use to explore the anchorages and little islands.

Do you enjoy bonfires on the beach?
Our favorite spot is Current Creek with its huge sandy beaches and never ending supply of wood washed down from the mountains by the river sized creek. Kids really love the shallow sandy pools behind the beach there as they are much warmer than the lake water.

Do you just want a quiet place to enjoy the beauty in silence, drink some coffee and read a book? With the size of Odyssey you can easily find a quiet corner to do that too.

Do you enjoy sailing?
There is a romance to sailing with the engines off that can not be denied, and we will sail as much as possible, maybe more than necessary, but when the wind does not cooperate we can easily motor as well.

A typical 6 night / 7 day would look something like this,

We meet you at the airport. The Village of Port Alsworth consists of two parallel gravel runways with gravel driveways off of them. Give you a quick tour of the village and visit the National Park Service visitor center. Then depending on time of day set you up for a hike to Tanalian Falls or directly to the boat.

Likely locations for anchoring each night weather and wind direction permitting,
1. Current Creek
2. Head of the Lake near the opening to Little Lake Clark
3. Full 1-2 days adventuring into Little Lake Clark by dinghy or kayak (no access by larger boat)
4. Near the Islands on the North end of the lake.
5. Near Kijik or in Chulitna Bay.
6. The bay in Port Alsworth

There are options for flyout floatplane or helicopter tours here depending on availability through local operators. If this is something you are interested in we would be happy to help arrange that as well. (they do book up pretty fast though)
