  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

The tour starts at the northwest end of Main Street in front of the Bailey House. We’ll hear about Julian’s founder, Drue Bailey, and hear some funny stories about the first residents of this tiny mountain town.

You’ll then make your way up a small hill to the Julian Pioneer Cemetery which provides a birds-eye view of Julian and the surrounding valley.

After that, you’ll work your way down Main Street past several historic buildings as you hear about some of the residents who helped shape Julian and make it the town it is today.

You’ll then pass by the old Julian Jail before making your way to the historic Witch Creek Schoolhouse. The tour ends at the Julian Pioneer Museum, which is open on weekends only.

Along the way, you’ll also learn about the earliest inhabitants of the area, the Kumeyaay people. Of course, we’ll also provide some tips on where to get a slice of pie and other treats!
