Paris: Self-Guided Treasure Hunt Through Montmartre - Paris, France
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

This activity is a great balance between a sightseeing self-guided tour and a fun-filled activity. Montmartre being about art, the treasure hunt is about a painting, randomly found in a flea market. To authenticate the painting (is it a genuine masterpiece or a joke ?), you’ll need to work on puzzles, letters and card games to decipher encrypted codes and secret messages. No previous knowledge is required, you just need comfy shoes.

You will first climb to th Sacre Coeur basilica. It is a bit of a work out but once you will be on the top, the breathtaking view of Paris is a nice reward. Next to the church is Place du Tertre, a very touristic (and often) crowded place where you can see people having their portrait sketched. It is also the begining of old Montmartre. While keeping your eyes wide open to find clues, you will continue in less frequented streets to discover Picasso’s favourite restaurant and where impressionists like Renoir and Degas used to meet.
Then, go down the “Butte” via the famous Moulin de la Galette and head towards Place des Abbesses, a lively place where the “I love you” wall is located.
Montmartre is the most filmed district in Paris. If you have watched the french movie Amelie or if you are a fan of the TV show Emily in Paris, you’ll uncover where some of the scenes where shot. To solve the last riddle and determine wether the painting is genuine, we will wait for you in front of the Moulin Rouge.
