EXPERIENCE

Discover the best of Nairobi on a full-day tour. Visit the Giraffe Centre, Kobe Beads Factory, and Bomas of Kenya. Enjoy a guided tour of each site and learn about the conservation efforts of the Giraffe Centre.

Start your tour with pickup from your hotel in Nairobi or Airport. Proceed to the Giraffe Centre, a unique wildlife conservation sanctuary located just outside of Nairobi. Marvel at the opportunity to hand-feed endangered Rothschild’s giraffes.

Feed the giraffes by hand, offering them nutritious pellets from a platform at eye level. Observe the giraffes’ impressive height and graceful movements as they extend their long necks to receive the treats. Learn about the Giraffe Centre’s conservation efforts to protect this threatened species and support environmental education programs.

Next, head to the Kobe Beads Factory. This is a pottery company that makes some of the world’s most beautiful beads. Be shown all the stages from the start to the finish. It’s also a unique factory as it employs single mother parents from the neighborhood who earn a living to support their families.

After the visit to the factory, take a break for lunch (optional) before continuing to the Bomas of Kenya. The Bomas of Kenya is a cultural center at Langata, near the main gate to Nairobi National Park. Watch talented resident artistes perform traditional dances and songs taken from the country’s various tribal groups, including Arab-influenced Swahili Taarab music, Kalenjin warrior dances, Embu drumming, and Kikuyu circumcision ceremonies. Later drop off at the hotel.
