Embark on a cultural odyssey through Mexico’s heritage with our Malinalco & Chalma Cultural Tour. From ancient archaeological sites to revered Catholic sanctuaries, this journey offers a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of Mexican culture and traditions.

Our day begins at 8:00 in the morning as we set out towards the archaeological zone of Cuauhtinchan, nestled in the picturesque valley of Malinalco. Perched on a mountain, this ancient site is accessed by stairs adorned with brief explanations at each break. Explore the Cuauhcalli, where stone carvings depict the ceremonial initiation of the Eagle and Tiger Warriors, including Cuauhtémoc, the last Aztec emperor. Marvel at the entrance frame adorned with the mouth of a snake, a symbol rich in cultural significance.

In addition to the archaeological site, Malinalco offers a wealth of cultural treasures to explore. Visit the Luis Mario Schneider University Museum, where high-level exhibits and local guides illuminate the importance of the region. Admire replicas of ancient monoliths, pre-Hispanic artifacts, and indigenous herbalism samples. Explore the 16th-century Augustinian Convent of “del Divino Salvador,” renowned for its beautifully restored mural paintings by local artists. Wander the cobblestone streets of Malinalco, sampling local delicacies like fruit snow and pink guavas, and browsing artisanal crafts.

Next, we journey 10 kilometers to the Sanctuary of the Lord of Chalma, one of Mexico’s most revered Catholic sanctuaries. Discover the spiritual significance of this sacred site and marvel at its miraculous history.
