Medan Airport – Bukit Lawang

Upon arrival at Medan Airport, you will be picked up by a driver.

Day 1 – Bukit Lawang – National Park

Jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang in Sumatra is one of the most famous ways to see orangutans in the wild. Thousands of tourists flock to this small village on the border of the national park every year, attracted by the guaranteed opportunity to get up close and personal with a Sumatran orangutan. Although the orangutans of Bukit Lawang now live in the wild, many of them were formerly kept in captivity; their behavior is very different from that of the truly wild orangutans.

Walk to the entrance of the national park near the Ecolodge guesthouse.

Enter the national park, hike through the jungle and look for wildlife, including orangutans of course.

Lunch break. Usually fried rice that we bring from the village, as well as various tropical fruits (depending on the season), such as pineapple, passion fruit, bananas, rambutan and tangerines.

Hike to our night camp, keeping an eye out for wildlife along the way.

Arrive at camp. Our guides will make a fire and cook your dinner of curry, rice and other local food with tea, coffee and fresh water. After dinner, relax, chat and talk.

Bedtime: Sleep under our “jungle tent”, a large wooden frame covered with a plastic sheet.

Day 2 – Mount Leuser National Park

Wake up and feel fresh nature vibes

Hike from the first day’s camp site for a walk through the magical jungle.

Lunch – fruit, noodles

Hike on to the rafting point, back from the jungle to the guesthouse across the river.

Drive to Berastagi, en route nature and ghost village at Sinabung volcano

Day 3 – Hike Mount Sibayak and explore Berastagi

Get up early in the morning to hike up Mount Sibayak at sunrise, then swim in the hot spring to see the water of Sikulikap, traditional Batak Karo culture, fruit market and more.

Day 4 – Berastagi to Lake Toba

Morning breakfast and luggage packing, check out: We drive to Lake Toba. On the way to Lake Toba we visit a small village in Karo Dokan, Sipiso Piso waterfall. and enjoy the panorama at the lake.

Day 5 – Explore Samosir Island
