This tour will not take you to visit Matera but you will be able to stop and admire the panorama of the vast plains that precede it and which extend as far as the eye can see and meet various species of wildlife, including birds of prey, such as hawks and buzzards, and small mammals, such as foxes and hedgehogs. You will also have the opportunity to observe ancient fortified farms and karst caves, which are unique geological formations formed over millions of years. The Murge territory has a rich history that dates back to ancient times and there are many sites, such as that of nearby Altamura, which preserve the Altamura Man, a skeleton of Homo neanderthalensis. Puglia is renowned for its culinary tradition, based on simple and genuine ingredients and traditional recipes handed down from generation to generation. You will take part in a cooking workshop where you will discover one of the typical recipes, learning together with a local expert to prepare the famous Apulian panzerotti. They are typical fried calzones filled with mozzarella and tomato to be eaten with your hands when they are still hot and the mozzarella is still stringy. At the end of the workshop, in fact, you will have the opportunity to taste your freshly prepared and fried panzerotti accompanied by a glass of local wine. This moment will be the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the fruits of your experience, chatting comfortably in the courtyard of the farm together with the local hosts.
