Lake Como Mountains: Hiking tour – Lombardy, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

We will set off from Valmadrera to discover the Elvezio Trail on Mount Moregallo, a trek with breathtaking views.

The itinerary includes several stops, panoramic terraces from which you’ll admire the Prealps on the eastern side of Lake Como, the city of Lecco, Resegone Mountain, Valtellina Valley, Lake Annone and the Adda River.
We’ll start on paved roads throughout town followed by a mule track and ending on a magnificent mountain trek in the woods. We’ll also be walking on a trail overlooking the lake until reaching Sasso Preguda, a magical place hidden in the mountains.

Along the way, your guide will tell you more about the area, rich in nature, historical beauties and curiosities.
Meet the “casote”, sign of the past rural architecture and fundamental to the agricultural life of this area.
Upon reaching Preguda, we will find a nice meadow where to rest and fall in love with the view. There’s also a small church that dates back to the 19th century and was built on an erratic boulder, carried by the ancient glacier .
After resting a bit, we will take the scenic loop trail until we reach a beautiful area with wooden tables and benches where we’ll refresh ourselves.

Along the entire route we will be able to enjoy an unforgettable wide view. At the arrival in S. Tomaso we will have the opportunity to lie down on a very relaxing meadow, near a small church and we’ll have a well-deserved lunch at the refuge.
A mule track through the woods will take us back to Valmadrera.
