EXPERIENCE

Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Patabamba
After picking you up from your hotel at 7:30, we’ll travel by minibus to Tambomachay, an Inca archaeological site located only 30 minutes’ drive away. After exploring the historic ruins, we’ll begin our first trekking route.

During our trek, we’ll climb to more than 4000 metres in altitude to get the best possible views of the breathtakingly beautiful natural landscapes. Admire the mystic Lake Queullococha to the arid plains covered with ichu, a type of Andean grass. After having lunch in a settlement on the lake, we will finish the day in Patabamba. Here we’ll visit a local family who will show us their way of life, and after enjoying a light dinner accompanied by a hot tea we will rest until the next day.

Day 2: Patabamba – Huchuy Qosqo – Cusco
Full of energy after a hearty breakfast at our camp, we’ll set off bright and early for our to in Pucamarca, where we’ll begin our second hiking route. We’ll pass by a stunning Urubamba viewpoint and the Sacred Valley, before descending two kilometres to a local village for lunch. Then it’s on to Puma Punku – known as the Puma’s Door.

Crossing winding ravines and trails, we’ll reach the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, which means Little Cuzco in Quechua. We’ll explore this historic site and learn all about the hostile relations between the Incas and the invading Spanish who tried to take control of the settlement.

After visiting Huchuy Qosqo, we’ll descend to Lamay, where the bus will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
