EXPERIENCE:

The Palazzo Sampieri or Casa Sampieri, later Palazzo Sampieri Talon, is a historic building located in strada Maggiore 24, in the center of Bologna.
In a room on the ground floor, there is a fresco depicting Hercules and Antaeus by the famous Italian painter Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, aka Guercino.
The palace was owned by the Sampieri of the San Michele branch, then by Francesco Sampieri and Anna De Gregorio who animated a famous literary salon in the city.
Hercules and Anteus is an imposing fresco painted on the ceiling of a room in Palazzo Talon Sampieri in Strada Maggiore 24 in Bologna which has never been available for public exhibitions. It was painted in 1631 and represents the two giants of Greek mythology, when Hercules lifts Antaeus from the ground to prevent Mother Earth from giving him the strength to overwhelm him.
