EXPERIENCE

Join us for a guided labyrinth experience at the Adirondack Labyrinth. Immerse yourself in the tranquility and explore. Whether seeking a moment of calm amidst nature or a deeper contemplative experience, the labyrinth offers a unique and enriching journey for all. You will discover the rich history of labyrinths, the uniqueness and inspiring story about this labyrinth, explore themes and benefits, and relax on your journey with expert insights and support.

Upon arrival, you’ll see a wooden Asa Adirondack and Labyrinth sign on your right as the road opens into a picturesque pond area. Park near the entrance sign, either in front or along the road. From there, walk across the land bridge beside the pond and check in at the wooden lean-to, where your Guide will greet you.

The first thing you will notice is the serene landscape of Asa Adirondack surrounding you, providing an ideal backdrop for reflection and introspection. Your Guide will give an overview and explain the rich history of labyrinths, used for over 4,000 years across various cultures for meditation, ritual, and spiritual practice. You will discover how labyrinths differ from mazes, hear about the modern labyrinth movement, the inspiring story of this labyrinth, and how to walk a labyrinth, set an intention, and prepare for your journey. You will also receive a special gift: “The 4 R’s of Walking a Labyrinth,” and an informational brochure to take home.

Your guide will provide detailed instructions on walking the labyrinth and share various themes you can explore. They will also explain the significance of fully engaging your senses feeling the ground beneath your feet, listening to the sounds of nature, and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

The labyrinth is 1/3 of a mile in and 1/3 of a mile out. People are shocked to learn this as it is only 70-feet in diameter. The journey is intended to help you clear your mind and focus on the present moment. Use this time to engage your senses feel the ground beneath your feet, listen to the sounds of nature, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

When you reach the center, pause for a moment of reflection. There are two large sitting stones you may rest on. Many visitors find this part of the journey particularly powerful, as the center symbolizes a point of clarity and peace.

Throughout your walk, you’ll find that the labyrinth’s design encourages balance and introspection. Walking the labyrinth can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and bring a sense of emotional and spiritual well-being.

This project, which cost $100,000 to build, was made possible by the dedication of its founders and over 70 volunteers from 5 countries who donated close to 4,000 hours over 30 months. Their hard work and community spirit have created a space that brings balance, peace, and healing to visitors from all walks of life.

In the end, we are simply walking each other home.
