Fullday excursion to Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley Cusco – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

The Coloured Mountains and Red Valley Tour, also known as Vinicunca Mountain, is located in the province of Canchis, belonging to the communities of Pitumaca and Cusipata; it is one of the most relevant places of the Ausangate route with an altitude of 5,200 metres.
We will also visit the red valley which is very close to the mountain of the 7 colours, which allows us to have an extraordinary view of a chain of mountains and a red valley, which are part of the Vilcanota mountain range.
These colours are due to the presence of large quantities of iron minerals in an oxidised state.

Itinerary:

– First, we start the corresponding transfer service from your hotel near the historic centre of Cusco between 4:00 am and 5:00 am.

– Then we will head south of Cusco to the village of Cusipata, where our first stop will be breakfast. We then drive along the road to the car park and from there we start our hike.

– Before starting the hike, our guide will give us the necessary instructions to enjoy the hike. Then you will walk up to the 7 colourers mountain for about 2 hours, when you arrive the guide will explain you and there will be enough time to take pictures and explore most of the places.

-Continuing the trip, we walk through the red valley for about 30 min. until we reach the viewpoint. Then return to the car park and return to Cusipata, where you will have lunch before returning to Cusco (estimated time of arrival 5:30 p.m.).
