  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

Begin your trek by meeting your guide at our office in El Chaltén. We’ll set out on the Laguna Torre trail, starting with a brief climb through a small ñire forest. The path steadily ascends, following the Fitz Roy River until we reach a scenic viewpoint overlooking the river canyon and the Margarita waterfall. After roughly an hour of hiking, we’ll arrive at the Mount Torre viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Mount Torre, the Adela range, and glaciers, taking a short break to soak in the scenery. The hike continues for two more hours to Laguna Torre, where you may spot various bird species, such as the Magellanic woodpecker. At the lagoon, it’s common to see massive icebergs that have drifted from the Torre glacier. You’ll also visit Agostini Camp, once a base for climbers and the source of the Fitz Roy River. Here, you’ll have time to rest and enjoy lunch by the water before heading back to El Chaltén.

National Park entrance fee not included.
