Full-Day Small-Group Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Your 15-hour excursion begins with an early morning pick-up at your Cusco hotel. Travel by private bus to the town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, where you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Admire the stunning scenery throughout the train journey, following the course of the river through the Sacred Valley before arriving in Aguas Calientes.

When you arrive in Aguas Calientes town your tour guide will greet you and escort you to the bus station for the ride up to Machu Picchu. You’ll have a 2.5-hour tour of the site, during which time you’ll learn about the Incas and visit the most important areas of the citadel.

After the guided tour you’ll have free time to explore the site on your own. There are various areas that are not included in the tour such as the Inca Bridge and you can ask your guide for suggestions about what to see.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo. A private bus will transfer you to Cusco. The program ends at your hotel.
