Originally housing around 200 shops, it once buzzed with crafts like leatherworking, silk production, and more. Today, artisans still craft handmade goods, offering visitors a glimpse into centuries of tradition and craftsmanship.

Visit to the Kruja Castle & the National Museum

03:30PM – Visit Rozafa Castle
Explore the ancient ruins of Rozafa Castle near Shkodër. Dating back to Illyrian times, it has stood since possibly the 4th century BCE, witnessing various renovations. As a defensive stronghold against invaders, it offers panoramic views of Shkodër and its surroundings. Legend has it that the castle is named after Rozafa, adding to its allure as a symbol of Albania’s rich history.

04:00PM – Visit to the city center (Marubi Museum, Historical Museum, etc)
Discover the vibrant city center of Shkodër with visits to the Marubi Museum and Historical Museum. Immerse yourself in Albanian photography and history as you explore these cultural treasures.

The Marubi Museum, founded in 1970, showcases the legacy of ‘Photo-Studio Marubbi’, established in 1856 by Italian painter and photographer Pietro Marubbi. With around 500,000 negatives, it offers a glimpse into Albanian history through photography.

The Historical Museum of Shkodra, established in 1947, is housed in a monumental 19th-century building. Originally known as the Folk Museum , it has grown through donations, purchases, and archaeological finds, providing insights into the city’s rich heritage.
