Full day excursion to the Salinas Lagoon Arequipa – Arequipa, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

We will start picking you up from your hotel in Arequipa between 6:00 am and 6:30 am to begin our journey to the Salinas Lagoon, located on the edge of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserves.
On the way we will stop in Chiguat, a typical village of the region, to have a continental breakfast with juice, yerba mate or coffee, cereal and toast.
Then we will go into nature and explore the flora and fauna of the Arequipa region around the Salinas Lagoon.
During the trip we will see the Andean forests, which are formed by small trees and bushes (in this area they are called queñuales).
Then we arrive at the Salinas Lagoon. If it is dry it welcomes us with a snowy white color. If there is water we can approach the shore and see the large amounts of salt that have accumulated and, in addition, we can explore the surroundings of the lagoon and the volcano of Lausana, as well as some thermal baths.
At the end of the hike, we will have free time for lunch before returning to Arequipa.
We will be back at your respective hotels in the area at 16:30.
