Mt. Azhdahak is located in the Geghama Range and is considered the highest point of the range.On the slopes of Azhdahak you can see many petroglyphs that date back to 4-5th centuries B.C.. As well as on the slopes of Mt. Azhdahak dragonstones can be seen, which play a great role in the Armenian culture with their history and significance.
The duration of the climbing Mt. Azhdahak is about 6-8 hours, depending on the number of memebrs of the tour and their physical fitness.
The route to the top of Mt. Azhdahak passes along beautiful paths, where a beautiful and breathtaking views of landscape of the Geghama Range open.
Arriving at the crater, it is impossible to remain indifferent to the beauty of the crater ice lake.
In clear weather, from the top of Mt. Azhdahak, you can see the lakes Sevan, Akna and Vanki and also the mountains Hatis, Ara,Aragats and the Biblical Mt. Ararat located in one direction.
