From Sorrento: Capri and Anacapri Group Tour – Sorrento, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

Meet in the morning with an expert guide to discover the secrets of the island and depart with the fast ferry from the port of Sorrento. The day will begin with a walking tour among the historical buildings of Anacapri, where it will be possible to admire the beautiful Church of San Michele Archangelo, a baroque construction with stunning majolica floors. Don’t miss a visit to the wonderful Villa San Michele, built by the writer Axel Munthe, where it’s possible to admire the head of Medusa and the bust of the Emperor Tiberius; moreover visitors can see Roman frescoes and statues, medieval art, Tuscan furnishing from the 1700’s, and tables decorated with Cosmatesque mosaics. Over the years, the Egyptian sphinx, located in the most panoramic point of view of the wonderful gardens, has become the symbol of the residence; according to the legend if you make a wish resting your left hand on the sphinx while looking out over the sea, the wish will come true!

After the guided tour of the center there will be some free time to choose an optional activity and have lunch in one of the local restaurants; the guide will be happy to give you suggestions on where to eat. The day will then continue to the very heart of the island of Capri: the famous “Piazzetta”, where you can admire the Clock Tower, the symbol of Capri. From there you will walk among the colorful narrow streets of the center. There will be free time to shop on the exclusive boutiques of the center, or visit the suggestive Blue Grotto.

At the end, you will return back to Sorrento with the fast ferry.
