EXPERIENCE

We will be visiting a destination renowned as Natural and Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO) crossing the homonymous “Humahuaca” Gorge, discovering incredible landscapes and sights, towns and cultures. We’ll visit unique towns, such as Purmamarca, famous for the 7-colors Hill, Maimará with its colorful slopes called The Painter’s Palletes. Tilcara stands out for its Pucará (a fortress in high mountains) which’s ruins have been partially destroyed.
The tour also visits Uquia’s chapel, built in the 17th century, worked in laminated gold. The destination: Humahuaca City is the Gorge’s largest town, with cobbled streets and iron lampposts on the corners. It is also the highest point of the route, at 2,940 meters above sea level. The main attractions in the town are: The Independence Monument, Cathedral Church and The Municipal Building.
