Begin your day with a pickup at your Porto hotel and head to Régua with your private guide. As you drive, hear about the region’s history and culture.
In Régua, tour a hidden and family-run winery to learn about the varieties of grapes and how they become wine. Visit the wine warehouse before enjoying a private tasting of 7 types of wine and port.
Next, stop at a local restaurant in Régua for a delicious lunch (not included in the tour price). Once you’ve finished eating, travel to the other side of the valley to reach Pinhão. Visit a smaller family-run winery to enjoy a second wine tasting, accompanied by honey and olive oil.
As you drink, play with Jaloto, the winery dog, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley. Continue to Amarante, a cozy city with winding streets. Stop at António’s traditional tasca to taste local products, including bread, cheese, ham, chorizo, olives, and “vinho verde,” António’s own wine. < Return to Porto through the beautiful scenery of the Douro Valley with your private guide. Note: If you would like to change the afternoon tasting for a rabelo boat cruise of 1 hour leaving from Pinhão is available upon request.
