From Pisa to Lucca along Puccini cycling path - Tuscany, Italy
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

This tour follows the Serchio river, where it takes its natural landscape, the bed broken by the water jumps, the bushy terraces with many varieties of birds.
The Puccini cycle path (named from the famous composer Giacomo Puccini who was born in Lucca) connects the Serchio valley to Lucca, where you can admire the medieval towers and the “Rocca di Ripafratta”, reaching the ancient walls of Lucca.
The path above the city walls offers a breathtaking view.
Art, music, history, food, wine, Lucca is a source of incredible treasures. Cycling through the narrow streets downtown where the towers stand out above the roofs. The Guinigi Tower with its hanging garden on the top; the ancient shops along via Fillungo, the squares of the Roman amphitheater and that of Napoleon, so enchanting! For a gourmet stop in Lucca, visitors can choose: from cecina, to necci (chestnut pancake) with ricotta, buccellato, Lucchese soup, etc… We are sure you will enjoy all!

Duration of the tour: 25 km to reach Lucca and 25 km to return to Pisa.
Possibility to take the regional train carrying the bikes for a supplement of the ticket to return to Pisa.
Possibility to leave the bike in Lucca for a supplement (you can ask at the bike rental)
