From Palenque: 3-Day Selva Lacandona Tour with Hiking – Chiapas, Mexico

Our three-day tour in the Lacandona Jungle includes visits to destinations such as the archaeological zones of Palenque, Yaxchilán and Bonampak, the Agua Azul and Misol-ha waterfalls and ecotourism accommodation at the Río Lacanjá Camp. • day one
We start our day at 8:30 a.m. with an exciting visit to the Archaeological Zone of Palenque, one of the most significant cities of the Mayan civilization. After exploring this fascinating historical site, we will head towards the impressive Agua Azul Waterfalls. Here you can admire the spectacular turquoise color of the waters (keep in mind that during the rainy season, the water can take on a brown tone). In the afternoon, we will leave for the Lacandon community of Lacanjá Chansayab, where we will stay at the Río Lacanjá Camp. (lunch and dinner)

• day two
In the morning, we will head to the community of Frontera Corozal, where we will board a motor boat to navigate the Usumacinta River, the largest river in Mexico. Our journey will take us to the impressive lost city of Yaxchilán, one of the most fascinating archaeological zones in Chiapas, whose majestic temples emerge in the middle of the lush jungle.
After exploring Yaxchilán, we will return to camp to begin an exciting 2-hour hike through the jungle. During the walk, we will visit the beautiful Moctunihá Waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim, later we will return to the Lacanjá River Camp, overnight in Lacanjá. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

• day three
We visited the Bonampak Archaeological Zone, which means “Painted Walls”, famous for housing the most preserved and important wall paintings of the classic Mayan period. Later we move to the Misol-ha waterfall where we can see its waterfall of more than 35 meters high. We return to the city of Palenque. End of service (Breakfast).

If you wish, we can return you to the city of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
