Hoover Dam:
Located approximately 35 miles from the Las Vegas Strip is the Hoover Dam.
Named after Mr. Herbert Hoover (31st president of the Nation), this architectural jewel was the largest dam in the world at the time of its completion in 1935 and became an Iconic Landmark in southern Nevada.

Lake Mead:
Mead is a large artificial lake located in Black Canyon, on the main stem of the Colorado River, approximately 30 miles east of Las Vegas in the Mojave Desert, between Nevada and Arizona.
Formed by the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead (At full pool) is the largest reservoir in the United States by volume and its surface area is second only to Lake Powell.
