From Cusco : Salkantay trek 4 days - Machu Picchu - Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Day 1: Cusco – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Salkantay Pass

We will start this adventure by picking you up from your hotel (near or inside the historical center) between 4:30 a.m. We will go to Mollepata where we will have breakfast, then we will continue to Soraypampa where the horsemen will be waiting for us with the horses that will carry the luggage of 7 kilos of each passenger.
We will start the trek uphill until we reach the Humantay Lagoon, then we will descend to Soraypampa and from there to the Salkantay Pass camp, upon arrival you will enjoy a delicious lunch, then you will have free time to explore the area or rest.

Day 2 : Salkantay pass – Wuayracmachay – Chaullay

This second day of trekking is the most difficult because it takes you up to 4630 m. 20 km of trekking. The cooks will wake you up very early with a cup of hot coca tea, then we will have breakfast and get ready for the trek. We will start the hike in a 3 hour trek until we pass through the Salkantay trail, in the place the guide will teach you about the gods of the mountain to protect us during the trip.

Then we will continue walking for 2 hours to the lunch place. We will continue descending for 3 hours until we arrive to the second camp Chaullay, right at the beginning of the Peruvian Amazon area.

Day 3: Chaullay – Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

We will wake you up around 6:00 a.m. to offer you a delicious breakfast, at 7:00 a.m. we will continue the hike to Sahuayaco beach, where you will take a local transportation to Santa Teresa, where you will have lunch. Then you will continue by car for 45 minutes to Hidroeléctrica , once there we will walk for 3 hours along the train tracks to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night.

Day 4 : Machu Picchu – Cusco

We will start this day with a delicious breakfast, then we will begin a walk to the checkpoint of the Bridge of the Ruins, here you will show your passport and your entrance tickets to Machu Picchu.
After passing the first checkpoint you will climb all the stairs for 1 hour to the main gate of Machu Picchu to be there around 6:00 am.
At Machu Picchu you will enjoy a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes, we will have time to explore and take pictures.
We will return to Cusco after visiting Machu Picchu and we offer you 2 options to return to Cusco, you can do the train or bus option.
