From Cusco: Sacred Valley + Short Inca Trail 3D/2N – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Day 1: Sacred Valley
Our tour starts with the pick up from the hotel from 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. to go to the archaeological site and the typical market of Pisaq, where we will have a guided tour.
After our visit to Pisaq, we will travel over the Vilcanota River until we arrive to Urubamba (capital of the sacred valley) where we will have a buffet lunch.
Continuing with our tour we will arrive at the fortress of Ollantaytambo where we will have a guided visit of 1 hour and 20 minutes.
After visiting Ollantaytambo, we will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and do some shopping.
Overnight in Ollantaytambo.
Day 2: Ollantaytambo – km 104 – Aguas Calientes
The tour starts with the pick-up from the hotel in Ollantaytambo (5:30 hrs) and then we will go to the train station in Ollantaytambo.
We will board the tourist train to kilometer 104, from where we will start the hike crossing the bridge over the Urubamba River or Willkamayuc and the checkpoint.
Then we will arrive at the archaeological center of Chachabamba and Choquesuysuy.
Continuing with the walk for 3 hours we will arrive at Wiñaywayna archaeological center which contains 20 buildings, a temple of rainbow and fertility.
After visiting Wiñaywayna we will walk for 2 hours through Andean trails, stone stairs and tambos until we arrive at Inti Punku – Sun Gate (2,720 m) that in Inca times functioned as an entrance control to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
From Inti Punku you have an impressive panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the entire valley that surrounds it, then descend for about 30 minutes to the wonder of the world Machu Picchu (2,490 m).
Finally, we will reach the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a hotel.
Here we will also have a delicious a la carte dinner in a very cozy restaurant in this town.
Day 3: Machu Picchu citadel – Cusco
This day we will wake up very early, and take the first transportation to Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes where you will learn about the Incas and visit all the most important areas of the citadel.
In the afternoon, you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo where you will continue on our transportation back to Cusco.
