From Cusco: Humantay Lake Full Day Hike Tour – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco very early in the morning, and take the road towards the town of Mollepata, a district located in the province of Anta, 55 miles away from the city. We will enjoy an energetic breakfast, and tour continues until we reach Soraypampa (3,920 masl), our starting trek point.

Here, we will have a short briefing before begin the trek. The trekking starts taking an upwards path, and after a 1.5 hours of hike, we will be surrounded by amazing mountains, with the opportunity to admire local fauna, and incredible wildlife as horses, sheep, Andean foxes, vizcachas, among others.

We are going to reach the highest point located at 4,200 meters above sea level, and here, we will enjoy a spectacular viewpoint of Lake Humantay. This beautiful tourist attraction is part of the Salkantay trek, an alternative hike of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

The Humantay Lake tour will impress you with amazing crystalline waters, awesome landscapes, and incredible combination of mountains and glacier. This lake is formed by the thawing of two snow-capped mountains: Humantay and Salkantay.

After watching this awesome place, we will back to the starting point to have a well-deserved Andean lunch.

Later, we will back to the city of Cusco to drop you off at the hotel.
